Looks like a scam. Most of their money goes to the CEO and salaries, not scholarships. The Wikipedia page breaks it down and the source is provided: directly from their tax form 990. $4,777,294 received in membership dues ... You'll get a fancy certificate, admission to some pretty lame social events, and the chance to win at best a $1000 scholarship.That being said, it is basically nothing. It will do nothing tangible to help you. You have some scholarship access, but it's my understanding that it isn't significant. It is not prestigious by any means. NSHSS means automatic acceptance to Harvard. but like actually, this question is asked so many times and the answer is always yes it is a scam. It's not exactly a scam, but it doesn't make a difference on you college applications because pretty much everyone is offered an invitation. It's just a waste of money, and NSHSS is different for NHS too.
