I think the fact that they are iconic or whatever and can be remade isn't necessarily connected to this but there is, they say, a bug relating to iconic items with this flag. I haven't tried it yet because the crafting and upgrading options were so awful.I have three items in my inventory that I can't even stash because they are flagged as quest items.
